Saturday turned out to be a bomb with a Foodprowl foodtasting event at The Taj Gateway Hotel Hinjewadi, We were invited for Asian Wok & Grill festival. Chef Kaushik Mishra has done a wonderful job in terms of capturing the flavors and using the natural ingredients to enhance the flavors of the dishes. All the spread was superb and had authenticity in it.
Cantonese Chicken Soup : Lovely flavours in the soup egg whites, Rice wine has done wonders in this soup, A perfect palate cleanser and something to start your meal with.
Momos( Veg & Chicken ) : Natural flavors, I liked chicken Momos more than the vegan. But They were not that bad at all.
Chilli Prawn Garlic: Scrumptious prawns in butter garlic sauce was perfect
Wok fried fish: Five spiced wok fried fish. The spices were just doing tickling to the taste buds, superbly conceptualized.
Shitake, Black fungus, tofu in black bean sauce: This dish was something which could go wrong easily but the overall taste and presentation was superb.
Stir fried chicken : chicken with mustard sauce can never ever go wrong, chicken could have been more softer but yumm.
Roasted drunken lamb : Lamb generally remains chewy in stir fried dishes but this lamb made my day, succulent and cooked to perfection with awesome flavors and broccoli.
Crispy vegetable Sichuan chili : Crispy vegan dish not something very different than what you can expect.
Pan-fried Egg noodles, Kopitan yellow curry, and vegetable red curry : Superprisingly the curries tasted different and at the same time tasteful, loved bith the curries.
The main course absolute delight with natural subtle flavors. No overpowering sauce flavors.Especially curries were up to the mark.
Dessert : Chocolate Pudding was out of this world, I actually made them give me a take away for the same as well, Just heavenly.
Overall you will defiantly enjoy the good food and Mocktails like chilli and Mohito.
