Review : The Sassy Spoon – KP Pune

The Sassy Spoon just got sassier with the new menu launch with amazing food options and drinks to compliment the same…

Food :

Appetizers

Pulled Lamb Croquettes with cheese : Loved how thin the batter was when the dish was deep dried. The lamb was still moist and had beautiful flavor also the texture was superb..Dip served was Mint Aioli.

Chicken Wings: Who doesn’t love good wings and that exact experience come out from these perfectly cooked wings tossed with Buffalo sauce, which was tangy, sweet, spicy all at the same time. It was an explosion of the flavors in the mouth. (Recommended)

Japanese battered prawns : Yummmm.. is the word. This was the dish of the day for me. The crunch on those prawns was just out of the world and the batter played a perfect partner to it. This dish was served with chilli and sweet sauce which I think can be re-looked at but at the end this was a master stroke.

Quinoa, Chickpeas, Sweet Potatoes and Bell pepper Poppers : Soft , gooey and flavorful. A perfect appetizer if you are a vegan and this dish certainly will not disappoint you at all.

Baked Phyllo Pastry with olives, artichokes, water chestnuts and sundried tomatoes: This dish lacked the main substance a little. I could not figure out what was the hero in the dish and which ingredient played the role of lead. The pastry was good and this dish looked beautiful.

Mains

Mushroom Risotto with Bocconcini : A little non appealing dish when you look at it.  Overall a good dish but lacked a little execution.

Chicken Scallopini with herbed mushroom rice: The rice was good, the chicken was well cooked the sauce was little bland which made the chicken looked like side kick. But overall Rice-Sauce-meat made sense to me. The portion of the dish was perfect for 1 person.

Ricotta, asparagus and water chestnut tortellini : A recommended dish from the mains. Everything can go wrong in a tortellini but this one was spot on. The sauce was creamy, tasty and enough on the dish that you don’t end up eating only tortellini.

We also has Salmon and Lamb dish but they seemed alright. If you are a Salmon fan you can try the Salmon dish but entire Salmon experience did not go very well.

Desserts

Though not a big fan of desserts but Sassy Spoon is famous for serving amazing bakery products so the desserts were a good highlight of the overall food tasting

Peach and Green Tea white chocolate Mousse: Loved the presentations of the desserts they just move you away. Lovely dish and very balance sweetness and sour. A beauty you should try if you are a mousse fan.

Caramelized White Chocolate and Watermelon Mousse: If you are a fan of candy “Pulse” this has that experience for you. It’s a Guava Chili sorbet served with Watermelon mousse and white chocolate. Again a mind blowing presentation.

Do try the Mocktails and Cocktails they are refreshing. Specially Very berry Khatta. I loved it.

Loved the overall experience and ambiance is just fab. Check this on out…

Cheers
